In the Paris Haute Couture, the ‘Modeliste’ is the second-in-command in charge of design and production. They pretty much take the couturier’s ideas and work tirelessly beside him or her to bring them to life. That’s precisely what Valarie/Mama does for me. Before entering the corporate world 20 years ago, she was a full-time seamstress/tailor, making the majority of the family’s clothes as well as sewing for the public. Her talent and skill in garment fit and construction are obviously invaluable to the quality and beauty of our clothes. Additionally, her management experience makes her a much appreciated wealth of knowledge and ideas in navigating our small business successfully. All this and she raised 3 wonderful children…what a woman!!!”
