House of Lord

“Having my own fashion house has been a dream of mine since I was about 10 years old. Since then, the dream has went through many transformations, but always with the goal of adding beauty, elegance, and vivre to the world.”

“The name ‘Charles Lord’ actually came to me one evening in prayer while I was asking God for direction in my career. I tried many appellations, but none ever seemed to be the right fit. When this name came to me it instantly resonated within my heart and soul and has ever since. My spirituality has always been a major part of my life. My relationship with God has brought me through so much and has given me the strength, intelligence, skill, creativity, and vision to make this dream a reality. So I feel that ‘Charles Lord’ symbolizes my unavoidable partnership with and reliance upon the Lord in this business and in my life. (And aesthetically, I simply like the way ‘Charles Lord’ and ‘House of Lord’ looks and sounds!)”

“Fundamentally and indelibly, the French system of Haute Couture has shaped my vision. It has influenced my design sensibilities, as well as the way in which I want to make clothes and do business. Charles Lord is a fashion house with its spiritual roots in the grand Parisian Couture maisions of yore. Houses like Worth, Poiret, Lanvin, Paquin, Chanel, Balenciaga, Dior, Givenchy, and St. Laurent have given shape and order to my company, as much as to my clothing. The grand hierarchy of couturier, modeliste, premieres, secondes, petit mains, directrice and vendeuses proved to be a phenomenal system that worked with such ease and precision and that built legendary fashion houses that the industry still reveres today. I hope to continue to implement many of the practices and techniques of the Haute Couture in the House of Lord, with the goal of achieving the same kind of rarefied success and esoteric aura that defined the golden age of Haute Couture.”

“As much as the ‘Maison de Couture’ system influences and informs my business model, I have found a need and desire to create and follow my own unique path for Charles Lord that is a mélange of how various organization in diverse industries are set up and operate. As with any business, people are the most important factor: the customer and the employees. Ideally, it is my objective for Charles Lord to offer its clients and associates the style, beauty, and ceremony of a bygone era, but with the thoroughly modern concepts of comfort, flexibility, and accessibility, creating a truly avant-garde business and, ultimately, a lifestyle that is chic, progressive, and successful.”
